FEELING BLACK & BLUE

Sometimes you just want to break the monotony by dressing hip and funky at work. And why not?! There has been a revolutionary change in work culture recently and offices are more open to experimental styling.

We love this edgy look, where we get to mix in trends whilst keeping it business appropriate.

Instead of wearing a traditional business suit to work, you can let go of the blazer for a slightly funkier option ;)

Black & gold printed statement silk jacket with electric blue cuff detailing is a contemporary-traditional piece that will work in the boardroom & beyond!

This versatile statement jacket is from Buzzaria. Burgundy pumps are an edgy addition, consider skipping these to a somewhat serious setup!

DIY- HEALTHYUMMY GREEN DETOX

In order to look good, one must feel good from the inside. Looking & feeling good is really the best style statement.  This has been said time & again and everyone knows this is true! But with our hectic lifestyles and daily pressures, its easy to neglect and forget.

We have made a promise to be good to ourselves this year. Naturally, we are on a constant look out for things & activities that elevate our lifestyle. And that is why today we are sharing this deliciously healthy DIY detox recipe that we found at Beautylish with you.

This drink is not only healthy, its absolutely refreshing and flavourful!

Without further ado, lets go through the concoction recipe!

MEAN GREENS

WHAT YOU NEED-

1 CUP GREEN GRAPES

HALF A HONEY DEW MELON
If you cant get your hands on honey dew melon, 1 full musk melon will do as well!

100 GRAMS PARSLEY

1 LIME & 1 CUCUMBER

PREPARATION-

  • Separate parsley leaves from stalks
  • Remove grapes off the vine
  • Peel the lime
  • Dice cucumber, melon and lime to small pieces

METHOD-

Put it all in the juicer and juice away!
If you are working with a blender, that is fine too except your juice will be thick and fibrous. You could   dilute it with some H2O!

This will produce approx 2 pints!

Before you drink, dont forget to stir! Don't store it for more than 24 hours.

Enjoy!

This green powerhouse drink is great to detox and de bloat and it tastes delish! The flavours blend really well and lime gives it that extra kick! This will make you go go go to the restroom and release all the toxins away ;)

Happy Styling & Happy Detoxing :D

JAMIE'S ITALIAN AT PICCADILLY

London never fails to surprise! On our way to Dirty Dancing, The Musical at Piccadilly Theatre last Thursday, we walked past Jamie's Italian (right next to the theatre). They had not yet opened for service.

It was just before 6 pm and we were tired, wet and hungry. We went for fish and chips at a nearby pub instead.

As we walked back to the theatre 15 minutes before the show, we decided to squeeze in a cheeky drink at Jamie's Italian only to realise that it was their soft launch week! And that they were offering a 50% discount on food!

Our faces fell! We had to come back! So we made a reservation for lunch the next afternoon and oh boy, this was a fabulous experience.

First of all this is a huge restaurant at Piccadilly Circus with 4 floors including the basement and a charming roof top that is filled with italian herb planters.

If you see the place you will realise a lot of time, energy and money has been spent on doing it up.

Located at one of the most popular tourist spots within London, this restaurant will thrive on walk ins and not work on reservations.

A big shout out to the staff. They have been trained very well, are friendly and helpful :) Believe me thats a big plus in London!

Our lovely waitress, forgot to ask her name :(

Lets take a look at the meal!

DRINKS
Jamie's Liberta available exclusively at Jamie's Italian

Crystal Lager (local beer)

Live antipasti station where meat planks are prepared-

ANTIPASTI

Our "Meat Plank" for two came with-

"World's Best Olives" On Ice

Large green olives, black olive tapenade & crispy "music bread"

MAINS
Prawn Linguine- Fried garlicky prawns, shaved fennel, tomatoes, chilli & rocket.

Seafood Bucatini- Tube spaghetti steamed in a bag with shellfish, crab, squid, capers, chilli, garlic, white wine & sweet tomatoes! Tube spaghetti captures all the juices and flavours making it yummy and succulent.

I have never had Italian food so flavourful before! The fact that they make their pasta fresh everyday is obvious and it's absolutely gorgeous!

30 Day Matured Prime Rib - 8oz bone-in steak with wild mushrooms, peppery endives & funky chips
I am usually not a big fan of steak but this one - medium with mushrooms was absolutely delish. Chips really are funky as they come with a nice herb & garlic kick.

Well it looks like we had a meat & seafood overload, but there are enough options on the menu for all you vegans out there ;)

DESSERT

Plank perfect for those who cant decide!

The board says it all :)

From left to right-
Warm Amaretti & Granola Crumble, Fresh Fruit Pavlova, Brownie With Amaretto Ice Cream & Caramelised Amaretti Popcorn and TiramisuWith Orange Mascarpone & Chocolate!

Just a perfect sweet happy ending to a blissful meal.

I loved that the dessert was so light, fluffy and not overwhelming! I think one plank is more than enough between two people. Followed by a mellow cup of latte; Amazing!

Happy Ending :D

Dining at Jamie's Italian is an experience. A one that is totally worth every penny. Even without the discount food is not badly priced at all for central London.

Before signing off I must mention the crazy WC as well. The flush is branded as "The Oliver"!

Sorry not the best picture :(

I cant decide why I love this place - delicious food, little quirks here and there or simply because it's Jamie Oliver!! Hello!!? He is just too good ;)

Will we go again? Definitely yes :)

A meal for two with a meat plank and dessert should cost approximately £50! (Minus drinks)

We are always exploring chic & stylish places to eat! If you would like us to do more such posts, let us know!

See you soon xoxo
