Upon asking a lot of women about their face shape, we get an "Are you retarded? " look in return with "Round, obviously" as an answer!

Well ladies you will be surprised to know that there are 9 different face shapes! Yes time to get that mirror out!

Now why is it so important to get this right? A lot of things depend on the shape of your face- glasses, sunnies, make up application, hair styles, hair cuts and even clothes!!!

Fret not, it is not very difficult to figure out your face shape. Pull your hair back, look at your face and pay attention to your hairline, forehead, cheeks & jaw. Then compare their dimensions!  Or you could take your eye pencil and draw an outline of your face on the mirror.

You could be any of the following -

Alrighty! Let's get into details!!!

An oval face is approximately 1.5 times longer than it is wide. Forehead is slightly wider than the jaw. It is the most sought after and versatile shape.
Eva Mendes

Shirin Saluja

Oblong is often confused with oval as they are similar! But this shape is slightly longer and not as wide. Pointy chin could be an oblong feature. Forehead, cheeks and jawline are the same width and jawline is probably round.
Sarah Jessica Parker

Long and narrow face with a square chin and hairline is the rectangle shape. In this case hairline and jawline width are almost the same. This shape is longer and less wide.

Inverted Triangle-
Inverted triangle is just like the heart shape face! The main difference is the forehead - its slightly flat and square. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Love Hewitt fit in this category.

Also known as the pear shape, the widest point on this face is the jaw line. Triangles have a narrow forehead and other points on the face are wider when compared.

A round face is same or almost same in width and length with no major angles or corners at the jaw!
